Sixth Form Life
Being in the Sixth Form means much more than just
academic studies. We have high expectations of Sixth Formers as
being excellent role models for younger students. Being in the Sixth
Form means a considerable amount of both give and take.
Sixth Formers:
- have their own Citzenship programme, so that they have a clear pathway mapped out for their future
.
- work with younger children with learning difficulties
- act as Prefects, including Head Boy and
Head Girl.
- are involved in summer Play Schemes
- work with the physically and mentally disabled
- help at school events
Our pass rate at A Level is well over 95% and both our BTEC First Diploma and National Diploma courses are well above national
averages.
The majority of our Sixth Form students go on to higher education
and we have built close links with colleges at both Oxford and
Cambridge
over the past years.
In the Sixth Form the school has three sporting academis; Basketball, Football and Dance. Students who have talent in these areas can continue to develop their skills whilst following and academic programme of study.
Many of our academy students go on to Higher Education continuing their sport at high level whilst studying for a degree.
