Residents of Coombes Road, in Dagenham, fear that their cats are being used for bait for illegal dog fights.

Several owners living in the road are alarmed that their cats have been stolen by a gang who are claimed to run a dog fighting ring in a local park.

Two injured cats and one dead cat were found in nearby Parsloes Park. At the same time Sonia Hussey’s tabby, the seventh cat, went missing from Coombes Road. A police spokeswoman reported that there had been no report of dog fighting but was aware of the neighbours concerns and will continue to be observant.
