Pakistan's Cricket Crackdown
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that a number of leading cricketers for the Pakistan national team have received unprecedented penalties and heavy fines.
Yesterday, Younas Khan and Mohammad Yousuf were given bans for life. This is due to match fixing during their tour in Australia this winter. Senior members of the team including Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved already have one year bans for poor conduct. As well as this, Umar and Kamran Akmal have also been given bans for poor behaviour during the tour.
The chairman of the PCB stated, “The indiscipline culture is so well entrenched in the team that any half-hearted move could jeopardise the country's future in the game.”
