Flock Shock Mystery
More than 75 starling birds were spotted falling on to a driveway of a house in Coxley, Somerset, on Sunday 7th March. Some other places were in Australia, New Jersey, Austin, Texas, and, lately, England.
They appeared to be in a good condition until they fell to the ground. Most of the starlings were found injured, such as having broken beaks, broken legs and wings. Five of the birds survived when they had a rough landing but they had to be put down because of the severe injuries that were caused.
The mystery of the birds’ falling from the sky remains as there is no evidence that the birds were unwell or poisoned before they landed.
