THE SIXTH FORM APPLICATION PROCESS
There are 2 different application forms:-
The green form for all current Barking Abbey Students is due in to Mrs Boom by Friday 15th January 2010. Barking Abbey Students who apply to the Sixth Form will have a letter either offering a place, a letter of rejection or an interview with the current Pastoral Co-ordinators to discuss possible issues regarding your application.
The yellow application form is for Students applying from other schools (external students). These will be issued on request with the Prospectus. The deadline for applications is Friday 30th April 2010.
PLEASE NOTE: There is NO Open Day for External Students.
Students should phone to request the application and reference form and it will be posted or emailed out to you. Please call the 6th Form Office on 0208 270 6517. When completed, students should pass the form to their Head of Year who should complete the reference and post it to the 6th Form office. DO NOT SEND THE APPLICATION FORM AND REFERENCE SEPARATELY AS THIS COULD JEOPARDISE YOUR APPLICATION. You will be invited in for an interview once the application form is received, provided it is accompanied by a good reference. Rejection letters may also be sent at this stage.
INDUCTION DAYS
Barking Abbey Students –
Thursday 24 June 2010 – 8.30am – 2.40pm
All Other Students –
Friday 25 June 2010 – 8.30am – 2.40pm
Dates for our enrolment day and information regarding our teambuilding trip to Stubbers Outdoor Pursuit Centre will be handed out on this day.
You must have six A-C grades to study A Levels and five A-Cs to study BTEC National Courses. You should look very carefully in the Prospectus and at the blocks on the reverse of the enrolment form and make sure that you have gained the entry requirements for the courses you have chosen.
