Casual Hire

Casual bookings can be made either over the telephone or in person up to seven days in advance if you are a member of the centre. Non-members can only book 48 hours in advance.

Causal hire activities include football, netball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, short tennis and cricket.

Casual bookings which are cancelled within 24 hours of booked time and where customers simply do not turn up, will be charged for the facility booked. Non payment could result in suspension of membership.

Club Bookings

Club bookings are designed for affiliated sports clubs or the purpose of training and matches.

Special Event/One off Facility Hire

These may include tournaments, children’s parties, displays or social functions. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

Applications for Club Bookings and Special Event/One off facility Hire must be made on the relevant application form. Reception staff can inform customers as to the availability of facilities and will pass on your application to the centre manager. You will then be informed if your booking has been accepted.

Written booking confirmation is sent to successful applicants. Please ensure you receive a copy of the Conditions of Hire before making your application.

Barking Abbey offers you the chance to hold your special event, party ot function with the choice of our excellent facilities.

Assembly Halls

• Accommodates up to 300 people
• Large performing stage with lighting, equipment and curtains
• Loose tables and chairs are available for hire

            Dining Hall

• Accommodates up to 150 people seated
• Maximum capacity is 200 people
• Loose tables and chairs are available for hire
• Use of kitchen and serving area is included in the cost of hire, but can only be given if both Assembly and Dining Hall are hired.
