Aerobics Information
Welcome to Barking Abbey School Leisure Centre’s Exercise and Aerobics Class Programme. Whether you want to exercise for fun, meet new friends or want the ‘ultimate’ workout, we are sure that you will find a class that suites your needs. The minimum age for all classes (apart from Street Dance) is 16.
We can provide you with a friendly and relaxed environment for you to pursue your healthy lifestyle and fitness regime. All classes are excellent value for money and are led by our qualified and experienced staff that will always be happy to discuss your individual needs.

Class Descriptions
Body Blast – The ultimate fat burning workout combining high and low impact moves, including a small amount of conditioning exercises.
Level: Intermediate/Advanced.
Circuit – An intense but enjoyable class, with the use of different equipment and training stations this class allows you to work to your own potential. Great for al over body conditioning.
Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Body Conditioning – A low impact muscular strength and endurance workout, designed to work on specific areas. This class may use equipment.
Level: Suitable for all levels of fitness.
LBT – This concentrates on all those hard to reach areas working the legs, bums and tums. This class has been designed for all levels of fitness and contains low impact exercises that include some floor work.
Level: Suitable for all levels of fitness.
New Body – A low impact cardiovascular workout, designed to strengthen, tone and increase your body’s suppleness. An effective way to exercise and improve your body shape and fitness.
Level: Suitable for all levels of fitness.
Studio Etiquette
- Please consult a doctor before participating in any activity if you are unsure of the suitability of any class, or if you suffer from any medical complaint.
- Participants will not be allowed into the studio once warm up has commenced.
- Mobile phones should be switched off or put onto silent.
- Footwear and clothing must be worn appropriate to the activity being taught.
- Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
- No children allowed in adult classes.
- No changing or storage of personal property in the studio/gymnasium. Changing rooms are provided with the use of lockers.
- All customers must report to reception and obtain a valid receipt before attending their chosen class.
- Members must show their membership card when making payment.
- Inform your instructor of any medical problems that may affect your performance or if it is your first time attending the class.
Prices
No booking is required for any of the aerobic classes. They are based on a first come first serve basis.
