Most of the work in textiles draws upon the design process to design, make and evaluate a range of solutions or products for a prescribed need. Students develop well-balanced skills and knowledge in the textile industry; including creative designing, garment construction, contemporary fashion analysis, various textile technologies (CAD/CAM) and safe operation of textile equipment. In addition, basic knowledge about fibres, fabrics, designing, colour, textile marketing ensure that students are well prepared for a career in the fashion industry.

ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE

Written Examination – one and a half hours = 30%
Coursework tasks = 30% } 100%
Board prescribed tasks = 40%
(issued in February of final year of course)
